Ok, maybe not a Big Chop, in the sense that I chopped down to an inch or less but, I chopped from Hip Length to about Armpit Length. That’s BIG to me but I digress.
My intention was to continue cutting an inch a month while transitioning to rid myself of my relaxed ends and then chop the remaining relaxed length at the end of the year. However, it was hard to hold on when my hair looked like this whenever I wet it:
Needless to say, styling was out so, why keep the ends? It was time to see what seventeen months of transitioning yielded me. How would it look? Would I be able to take care of and style it? What would my texture be? I’d been in a relaxer as long as I could remember so, I had NO idea what to expect. I just knew that it was time to let those horribly thin-looking ends go.
That said, it didn’t look too terrible when it wasn’t wet. But, it was still time to go. So, with no further delay, I’ll just let my pictures speak for themselves. It. it. finished. ~NJoy!
