    Yep. It's setback time

I was gonna have a stylist or two look at my knots to see if there's anything that could be done but, nah. I just decided to cut them out and be done with it. Hey. This may be a sign that it's time to get rid of these troublesome relaxed ends. (Or let hubby tell it, I need to just get back to relaxing )

    Soooo...

Well, my efforts to detangle these knots are over. I've decided to just cut them out. I actually started cutting my twists loose the past couple days. But, ah well... Here's a pic of the knot with lots of oils and goop in my hair, trying to get it to release. Not pretty at all.

But, cutting my twists loose also started to turn into frustrated ripping so, I grabbed my scissors and decided to take control.

Let's get this party started right.

This pic in not of a ball of hair. It is a thick, solid knot of hair. The main knot, mind you. I was just so thru with it that I just hacked it off. You can't really tell how thick it is from the pic but, I was trying to show that straight edge near the top of my fingers. That's a lot of friggen hair wrapped up in there.

I still had smaller knots that I also cut. I'm left right now with one small section that's full of tiny knots. I'll probably hack those too.

I can't really tell length yet because I don't want to get my feeling hurt. Only that back quarter section is cut off so, the left side of my hair is my regular length. No doubt I'm going to have to just BC now. I don't know that it makes sense otherwise. Eh, we'll see.

Bottom line, all things work together for my good. So, I'm expecting this setback to produce an amazing comeback. Hopefully things will be much easier when I'm only dealing with my natural texture. Gotta stay hopeful.

Njoy, I know it's not exactly how you wanted it to go down, but the positives are 1) you wanted to BC already, 2) you have excellent hair care practices, and 3) your knowledge of hair growth which I'm sure will put you back to your goal in no time!!!!!

Looking back at your length checks if you can go to SL to WL in a year, you definitely know what to do!!!! You can do it!

    Re: Yep. It's setback time

I haven't had time to do anything to my hair yet. Just busy. But, last night I got to thinking that maybe I'll just continue ps'g and holding on to my relaxed ends until the end of the year, as planned, since I'm not wearing it out anyway. I think that may protect my ends while it's growing out. But then again, if I have anymore issues with tangling, getting rid of the relaxed ends may be my best bet. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but, for now, I'll continue doing what I'm doing. I'm in no rush to make a decision.

Plus, I've reached lengths that I've never been before. That's pretty exciting. So, I really would like to at least get to BCL...just to say I've been there. The section that I cut is about bsl. I'd rather wait until I'm at least mbl or wl before BC'g, if I can wait. We'll see what happens. Any thoughts?

I think maybe wait until you can bc but still be at least MBL afterwards. You're the QUEEN of comebacks!

That sounds like a plan, Tink. I hope that I can get it at least to WL by the end of the year and hold out til then to cut. We shall see.
