Girl, before you give up, have you tried other alternatives to dealing with your ng? I spray a mixture of milk, honey, coconut cream and aloe juice on my ng and let it sit with a plastic cap on my head for an hour and then rinse it out. It temporarily loosens the curl pattern in my ng. Then I follow that up with an oil rinse and run a wide tooth comb thru my ng during the conditioner part of the oil rinse. Works VERY well for me.

The milk mix spray loosens the ng. The aloe juice helps to lay the cuticles down. I use the oil rinse after that to sort of coat the smoothed cuticles. It seals in moisture too and works very well. Milk and coconut both loosen the curl pattern so, I suppose both are not needed. I did both...just in case, and have been doing that since.

As for the shedding, I take garlic supplements regularly. Another thing that helps me is a black tea rinse. It's a little drying so, I'd do that before any conditioning treatments.

I hope you get things under control and whatever you choose to do, I support you!

Thanks... My NG growth seems to be under-control. I tried the aloe vera juice after a moisturizing co-wash; (I did ORS Mayo protein just a few days ago and my head is protein-sensitive) and followed through with the oil rinse. My hair was still wet from the night before so this morning I blow-dry just the roots on cool air. No tangles, No tangles... oh Yea

I'm glad to hear it worked for you. I just permed my haid last month, but I'm going to try this when my hair starts to tangle.
