I think that's really up to you. Keep in mind that GHE will add moisture to your hair so, for those who are wearing their hair straight and don't want reversion, I would say skip GHE. But for the rest of us, if you're GHE with the oil, then I would say to at least do so every time you use the hair growth oil. Daily GHE shouldn't be a problem. BUT, keep in mind, especially if you are relaxed, that you have to pay attention to your protein/moisture balance. Too much moisture can be a problem similar too too much protein (although easier to correct). If you are regularly using GHE and your hair starts to feel too soft or mushy when wet, you may want to do a light protein treatment periodically to add structure.

FYI, when I was relaxed and cowashing daily, I GHE every night. I still do most nights now. Hope that helps.

I truly love your hair! You have some major thickness going on and I don't pray for that kind of growth. I'd lose patience by being the one to have to manage it. I am proud of you for consistently giving me hope on my journey! Let's grow more hair.

I vote for the flat iron with heat protectant and curlformers. That's what I plan to do. I haven't bought curl formers yet though. I feel like my hair consumes more of my time than I want it to. I am really loving how the Havana twists look so I may wear those for awhile...

Welcome back! I know that had to be stressful having your new hubby be deployed like that. Poor baby. But it sounds like all is well with you. I'm looking forward to growing with you, Sis. Spring's a'coming! I can't wait!

Yay! Welcome back, Tink! There's a lady on my facebook page that uses the name "Tink". I thought it was you. lol

So you're about 4 months post? Awesome. I eased into transitioning too. After doing a 6 month stretch, I decided to go for a year. And if I made it to a year, I'd officially call it a transition. That took some of the pressure off me, in case I couldn't handle it (plus I was going thru a tough time with my mom's illness at the time).

As or tips, remember that the line of demarcation (the point where the relaxed and natural hair meets) is delicate and breaks easily. Keep the manipulation down to a minimum as much as possible to avoid breakage. Also, keep this area well-moisturized, as dryness contributes to it's fragility. The winter months should be easy because you should put your hair up and away anyway. But at the same time, winter weather dries hair out so, you'll have to be sure that your hair is protected from the elements.

Also, you will experience some degree of breakage no matter what. Don't panic. Remember that you intend to cut those ends off anyway, eventually. So, don't get too attached. Your headed for a new head of hair. Keep that in mind.

Good luck and I'll be watching and cheering you on.

Girl, I feel you on being excited that the wig is your choice and not a necessity, What are you wearing? Share the deets!

I think, if your ends are not splitting, you should just leave them alone and just keep an eye on them.

I am so thankful that God blessed you with two wonderful parents. I'm thankful for the time you were able to enjoy them and the memories you have. I know He is comforting you through this and even though it hurts, we don't sorrow like those who have no hope. Death has already been swallowed up in victory and you know you will see your parents again! Thanks be to God for His Son's sacrifice that has given us eternal life!!!

Sorry to hear that NJoy, but your father is in a better place for sure.

Yes, the sleep is what you needed, when my mother passed, I was a kid, and all I did was sleep.

Like they say: life is for the living, so let's live it.

    Sending you positive vibes

My hair is changing texture as it grows longer and becoming more straight than wavy.
