  1. Handling De-tangles.

I've been a bit frustrated with my hair lately. I texlaxed at 38 wks post because the detangling became nightmarish for me. My hair has grown quickly and it's been up mostly so, I don't have much experience or patience in dealing with the tangles that I've been experiencing in my NG/texlaxed hair. The texlax didn't really take so my hair is behaving like it's 44 wks post. I've been leaving it alone, dreading having to detangle. And when I did detangle, I'd braid my hair in 6-8 detangled sections, ...

  2. Day 2 of my 30-day countdown to my birthday reveal!

Well, I've made no secret about using visualizations as part of my growth regimen. Today, I've decided to step it up by making a "mind movie", by pairing growth images with upbeat music that makes me feel great. I've chosen, "Get Ready For This" by 2 Unlimited. That music really gets me pumped up. And watching images of my own growth and growth goals, believing that I already have it, releases an intense joy and gratitude. I'm expecting to have some amped up results as well. ...

  3. Countdown til my birthday reveal!

Yesterday marked one month until my birthday. Don't bother to ask how old I'll be. That's not important. The excitement for my birthday is that I will finally flat iron and see the full length of my hair. Make no mistake about it, this is the longest my hair has EVER been. So to say that I'm excited is an understatement!

For the first quarter of this year, I've been neglecting my hair and tending to more important life issues. But since April, I've been getting back on track with ...

  4. Henna/Indigo Success!!

So my henna turned out fabulous! It was definitely a 2-day process, which I treated as a Spa Weekend for my hair, and well worth it!

After having stretched my texlax for 38 weeks, I was a little apprehensive about the possibility of cementing tangles into my new growth with henna. I had to find a way to be sure that my massive new growth/texlaxed hair was completely detangled. I decided to detangle and partially braid my hair to stretch it in preparation for my henna treatment. ...

  5. My Texlax/ Relaxer Process

I coat my previously relaxed strands (mix of neutralizer, conditioner and oil and/or Vaseline). I mix in about a tbs wheatgerm oil and SAA into relaxer and apply. I rely on the oil to slow down processing so, I can take the whole 20-25 mins to get it all in.

    Next steps:
Rinse well, protein/reconstructor, rinse, neutralize/chelate (Quantum), rinse, ACV rinse (just to make sure), neutralizing poo again (just to make sure), rinse, PC or K-Pak, rinse, DC w/heat, rinse. Done. ...
