I was reading about ladies who trim by moon phases. I don't really have a trim schedule and am hoping to find more information on this. or someone with experience. have you noticed growth using this trimming method?

I've heard of it and I plan to try it.

I've heard of it and actually used it to do my trims. Not necessarily because I'm sold on the validity but, more of a "why not"-type thing. I first used it to find the best days to do my relaxers (moist periods) and then, when I got my splitender, I used it to trim my ends (since I was trimming anyway). Again, because...why not, if I'm doing it anyway.

I have to dig for the links but, I'll post them. One site doesn't have it up anymore (site totally changed direction in subject material) but, I did copy the info so, I may have to post the info if I can't find the original source.

I'll look that up when I get back to my laptop.

Oh, and I did get great growth but, I'm not sure if I can attribute any of it to the moon cycles. But, I can't disprove either so...why not?

Here is the chart that I read awhile back https://morroccomethod.com/en/lunar-hair-chart

This is so interesting to me!

A hundred years later and I'm back with some links. In addition to Tink's link for the Morrocco Method, here are a few other links:

Farmers' Almanac's Best Days to Cut Hair to Increase Growth (http://www.farmersalmanac.com/calendar/best-days/health-beauty/cut-hair-to-increase-growth/)

This is an article of cutting your hair on the phases of the moon (http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip001.htm)

And a lunar calendar that you can customize for your time zone. On the left side near the top, change to where you live. Here's the link (http://www.lunarium.co.uk/calendar/universal.jsp).

There was another site. The link doesn't work anymore but, I copied the content for my personal use. I'll search the site in the morning to see if they moved it elsewhere. If it's not there, I'll just post what I have and credit the site...in the morning. I'm up too late. Gotta get some sleep. HTH

Lol! I could hear you saying that too! Hahaha...yes the links work and everything is in one place which is good. So far as any upcoming trims I'm not sure yet, I relax this week so I will see how my hair looks then decide. I really wanna see my progress because whenever I do trim it seems like I'm back at square one. Soooooo I will have to wait and see if I really want too. But I think this Thursday is a full moon, so I will relax that day or whenever it is! Lol

Ok. Well I'm not rushing anybody into trimming. I was just wondering. I also like to use the calendar to plan touch ups too, opting for "moist" days. Thursday is a full moon and a Taurus moon (moist) :thumb:

Yeah, I don't know if any of that means anything but, I like to feel like I have a little control over the planning process. :giggle:

Exactly! I figure at least I can do something pertaining to my hair on those days why not! Let's see :)

Hey Njoy! It says that chemically processing your hair during this time is most favored! :yahoo: Bring it on! :reddancer: Lol

I didn't trim and I used a new relaxer! Yaaayyyyyyy!! Right now my hair is back in a braid, don't know if the moon thing had any effect yet, its too early to tell. When I start my sulfur back up I will report and check in ;) oh I decided to wait for the trim...question? How will really know if the moon thing is working when we're using a growth aid? Hmmmm LOL...just thinkn

Yeah, I don't have an answer for that one. I just say, do whatcha can and expect growth. If nothing else, I use the moon cycles to make me feel like I have a planning tool for when I DO trim or relax. That said, let me check and plan out my next touch up. Trying to decide whether to hold out til the end of the year or do it now. I'm 30 wks post tomorrow. *shrugs* I think I'll plan out a December touch up (texlax, that is)

Technically, I haven't been protecting my ends as well as last year. I suppose I could use a trim with my splitender.

I was planning to texlax today but, the lunar calendar indicates that this is a dry time and not good for trims or chemical processing. That said, I've selected December 11th for my next texlax and trim. The Morroccan Method shows that to be a good day for lengthening and the moon will be in Cancer, which is moist and good for chemical processing as well as trims.

So for now, I'll make sure to do a moistuizing DC.

Scratch that December 11th thing. I've been doing more research and ran across this interesting blog post (http://www.hairbrained.me/profiles/blogs/hairstrology-harnessing-the?xg_source=activity) that's worth a read.

This together with threads that I've been checking out, I've decided to hold off and trim my hair on December 24th. Now, how to do this on Christmas Eve, I'm not sure but, I'll do it. And I'll hold off on the possible texlax until December 26th.

Also, since I'll be doing more trims in 2012, I think I'm really going to test this and schedule my trims using the lunar cycles.

I've been meaning to come back to this thread and say that I trimmed twice, probably a total of two inches in January, according to moon phase for growth. I don't know if it helped or not but, I've grown those 2 inches back already. Concidence? But, being able to schedule my trims at least make me feel like I'm doing something helpful for my hair. All I know is, I'm not cutting after a full moon. :giggle: Ya never know. :giggling:
